GO BOBCATS!

Lucky me --- I won two tickets to the Charlotte Bobcats game on Tuesday night. I knew they were good tickets, but I had NO IDEA what was in store for us!

We get to the game and realize that our seats are on the club level...not just the club level...but they're the first row. So, we pretty much sat on the court. (WOW!) And, along with these fabulous seats, came FABULOUS perks - such as "Back Court" passes... which entitled us to get complimentary food and beverages and we even got to see the team come out of the locker room. Pretty sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, huh? (Drew definitely took advantage of the unlimited Bud Light!)

We were so close - I felt like we could spit on the players. It was A-MAY-ZING!

Speaking of amazing, I also got the see this pretty amazing, former Tarheel, Sean May:

He didn't play...but that was to my benefit! On his way out of the locker room after halftime, I stopped him to take a picture. (Maybe I should rephrase that...I pretty much mauled the girl in front of me to try to get a picture!) I hand the camera to a nice gentleman at the program stand and ask him to please take our picture. And...well, he pressed the power button instead of the shutter button. Needless to say, before I could realize that I didn't have a picture - Sean was gone. However, I can say that I got to touch him --- and he put his arm around me! :) *dreamy*

This guy spent the whole game right here in this same spot --- doing this exact thing. While I am glad to see that he FINALLY cut his hair...Adam Morrison is not all he's cracked up to be. OBVIOUSLY.

I'm pretty sure I could smell Raymond Felton's Right Guard at this point. Do you think I even cared? :)
Oh, and we also saw this couple get engaged on the court! The girl was blind-folded and she was told that she had to listen to the crowd to find her boyfriend in a chair with 2 tickets to the next game and an autographed ball from the team. Well, when she finally found him - he was on one knee with a ring in his hand... really cool!

Drew thought I was silly for taking a picture of the Lady Cats --- but they were pretty entertaining. Drew pointed out that the one on the left didn't look like she worked out enough because her butt jiggled the most. Hahahaha...

Final Score: 80 to 72 Bobcats! I think even if they had lost, it would've been the experience of a lifetime. WOO HOO for great tickets and a great game!

It's better in a sweater!

Drew and I hosted our first annual "Tacky Christmas Sweater Party" this past Saturday. Here are a few pictures of our tacky attire. :) What a fun night with great friends!
**Please notice the geese on the front of my sweater vest. I thought I had it in the bag to win our competition. Until this guy showed up...

Steve and Nikki - dressed to impress!
Steve won the "trophy" for the tackiest sweater - and I think you can see why. I guess we're all going to have to up the stakes for next year.

Note to self: Never leave these two alone.

Christmas with the Suari

After spending Thanksgiving in Texas, we finally got our Christmas tree up a few weekends ago. We had planned to drive to Ashe County to find our very own special tree, but never were able to find the time. Luckily, we inherited an artificial tree (my PaPa is frowning, I know) from my parents and were able to get it up and decorated.

Little did we know that about the time we had all the ornaments and lights on it, with the bow on top --- it would fall over!

Drew spent a lot of time under the tree (with the cats, of course!) trying to rig the stand. We had hoped to be able to level out the tree with a stack of books, but that proved to be a bad idea.

Monday afternoon, I came home to this:

That's when we decided to just go buy a new tree stand. (Why didn't we think of this earlier?) So, when it was all said and done - we had invested $7 in a new tree stand, lost 4 ornaments (which were broken in the falling), and almost taken the holiday cheer out of our holidays. Key word: almost.

Now, our tree is up and decorated, the stockings are hung, we have a fire burning...all we need is Christmas break!

Wedding Video!

We just got our wedding video. I think I've watched it about 8 times in a row. The day still brings tears to my eyes --- it was truly beautiful, absolutely wonderful, and I could not have possibly been happier. It was the BEST day of my life, without a doubt!

Here's the link to the video: http://www.blog.lifestagevideography.com/

Hope you enjoy watching as much as we do. :)

Tailgating!

If you know us...you know how much we both love sporting events. Especially ones where food and beverages are involved!

Last weekend, we went to the ECU vs. Marshall game in Greenville. We were lucky enough to tailgate with some pretty important peeps (Kevin and Jenny Taylor --- Drew teaches with Kevin) and have a prime tailgating spot!

Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the game, and the great company. Heck, we even wore purple and gold to cheer on the Pirates. (Aaaaarrrrgh!)

I couldn't help but post this video. Just one of the 3987594592749873982743 reasons why I love my husband. (Wherever he goes, he draws a crowd.)

Charlottesville

This weekend Drew is coaching at a lacrosse tournament in Charlottesville, VA. I had every intention of going until I realized that I'm being observed (oh, the joys of teaching!) first thing Monday morning and that we wouldn't be back until 11:00 or later. Boo...

Just thinking of Charlottesville brings back fond memories of the summer after college. I'm still hoping we can live there some day...

We're Married!

Feeling the urge to share the joys of being a newlywed and answer the infamous question, "How's married life?," I decided to create a blog to share with family and friends. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy sharing.

We've been married 2 months and 18 days today. Not long to those that have celebrated golden wedding anniversaries, but an eternity to those fighting fatal illnesses. In the past year, we have: graduated college, started new jobs, bought a house and gotten married! All of these are things that I consider to be pretty big milestones. And, amazingly, we've done it all together. Our wedding programs said, "Today I will marry my friend - the one I laugh with, dream with, live with, love..." and it's true. Drew is my best friend and I can't wait to spend forever with him. Each day brings new laughs and dreams. It's hard not to be excited to see what the future holds.

They say that the first year of marriage is the hardest. If that's true, then we've got it made! I couldn't be happier...
